The ART ACADEMY, a well known institution for Music and Dance creation founded in 1996 by the Iconic duo Anna Patten (C.S.K) and Late Sanedhip Bhimjee situated at Flat Patten Boundary Road Rose-Hill.
Anna Patten is a dance choreographer and performing artist of national and international repute. Anna studied the Kathak classical in India (New Delhi) under the distinguished guidance of several maestros of Kathak dance style. She mastered all the facets of this evolving and flourishing dance.
Once in Mauritius she transformed the traditional Kathak into a unique Mauritian style, and travelled almost all over the world and been internationally recognized by great dancers and choreographers.
Fusion with African, Asian, Contemporary, flamenco and many other dance disciplines have been her major role and creation is her motto.
Through her performance and shows, Anna brought Mauritian dance to an International level and kept improving her creativity as she firmly believes as a Mauritian we can be as good as anyone else in the world.
ART ACADEMY is a very reputed dance school in Mauritius where ANNA PATTEN has trained various dancers and choreographers. She produced and choreographed numerous shows in Mauritius and abroad. Some main examples are:
